You went on vacation, your friend spent the night, you picked up a mattress on the side of the road. Now you have bed bugs. No matter how you got them, you need to get rid of them. How do I get rid of them? Who do I call? Who is responsible to pay for all of this? Attempting to treat bed bugs yourself is not a good idea and usually not very effective. They like to hide in places you would not even think they could fit into and they are very difficult to get rid of unless you know their habits Per Massachusetts housing law, In a one unit building, the tenant is responsible for the treatment (but it doesn't hurt to ask the landlord if they will pay). In a duplex, The landlord is responsible for the treatment and can choose to treat him or herself or hire a professional. We suggest that they hire a professional as bed bugs are hard to eliminate on your own. In a building with three or more units, it is the landlord's responsibility to hire a professional. Using All Green Pest Control for your treatments, you will not be subjected to all of those harsh chemical pesticides that are used to kill bed bugs. We use Green products and one very low-risk product. I start by applying dust to the wall voids to prevent them from traveling through walls. Next, we apply a mattress liner to your mattress that is embedded with permethrin, a very low-risk chemical that is often used in military uniforms and hiking clothing to prevent insect bites. It is also the active ingredient in Rid or nix lice shampoo as well as the active ingredient in scabies cream. Once that is done, we apply a liquid treatment that is made up of essential oils that kill and repel the bed bugs. After the treatment, you should begin to have bite-less nights in no time and stop seeing those nasty little critters. There is no need to clean away the chemicals used for the treatment because they are none (except the mattress liner). Using All Green Pest Control for your bed bug problems leaves you with more time, fewer chemicals, and a safer environment to live in after the treatment is done.
